Battalion Chief John Harvey began his career with Miami County EMS in 2007 as
a part time EMT. He received his EMT-I and became full time employee in December 2008. In June 2009, he completed his paramedic
training and was later promoted to Lieutenant in 2010. In January 2012, he was promoted to A-Shift Battalion Chief.
John holds a Bachelor of Science
degree, CCEMT-P and FP-C certifications, and is one of three Instructor/Coordinators at Miami County EMS teaching all
levels of EMS certification. In addition, John holds Provider/Instructor credentials for many continuing education courses
such as EPC, ACLS, PALS, AMLS, and PHTLS and is active in community and public education courses.
